Medieval art spanned from the 6th to the 15th century, heavily influenced by religion and the heritage of the Romans and the Church. While much artwork depicted biblical stories, there were also secular pieces. Prominent styles include Romanesque, Celtic, and Gothic, characterized by limited color palettes and techniques such as fresco painting. Women's contributions were often restricted to manuscript creation. This period is significant for the high quality of art, encompassing various forms like carvings, sculptures, and decorative elements in tombs and castles.
