  7. Canadian Accredited Security Contractor (CASC) Program • The CASC program, launched in 2012, continues to increase the number of accredited companies. • Municipalities continue to adopt the program and to include the CASC as criteria required in their tenders. • The program is beneficial to all provinces and is more applicable to those that do not have government mandated regulation. • CASC Companies choose to become accredited as a way to differentiate themselves from other companies.

  8. Education • ATC1, ATC2, the Certified Security Project Manager (CSPM) courses taking place across Canada. • CANASA’s Alarm Technician Course, level 1 (ATC1) is currently being updated and an online format will be available to members by the end of 2014. • This year, CANASA will welcome members to post their online training courses on the CANASA website to be made available to other members. The training material will be housed in a library of education tools, sorted by security related category i.e. CCTV, Access control…

Commercial and Residential Contract Templates • Commercial and residential security contract templates are currently being developed and customized for legal regulations in each province. • Contracts will be available to all members in order to reduce the legal costs incurred while increasing their protection and the value of their accounts. • Delivery date - Fall 2014.

  11. Online By-law Repository • A library of false alarm by-laws and false alarm fine information is being developed, which will be available on the CANASA website. • Members will be able to quickly and easily search by city, region or municipality.

Security Canada Existing Security Canada Expos are expanding and one additional event has been added to the 2014 slate: • Security Canada East (Laval, QC) – April 23 • Security Canada Alberta (Calgary, AB) – May 8 • NEW Security Canada Ottawa (Ottawa, ON) – June 4 • Security Canada West (Richmond, BC) – June 25 • Security Canada Atlantic (Moncton, NB) – September 18 • Security Canada Central (Toronto, ON) – October 22/23
