  2. Knowing how to GOOGLE • To Search • To Explore and innovate • To Communicate, show & share • … http://www.google.com/intl/en/options/ • The verbto google (also spelled to Google) refers to using the Google search engine to obtain information on the Web. A neologism arising from the popularity and dominance[1] of the eponymoussearch engine, the American Dialect Society chose it as the "most useful word of 2002." [2] It was officially added to the Oxford English Dictionary on June 15, 2006,[3] and to the eleventh edition of the Merriam-Webster Collegiate Dictionary in July 2006.[4] The first recorded usage of google used as a verb was on July 8, 1998, by Larry Page himself, who wrote on a mailing list: "Have fun and keep googling!"[5] • http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Google_(verb)

  3. Why is Google Called Google? • Googol is the mathematical term for a 1 followed by 100 zeros. The term was coined by Milton Sirotta, nephew of American mathematician Edward Kasner, and was popularized in the book, “Mathematics and the Imagination” by Kasner and James Newman. Google’s play on the term reflects the company’s mission to organize the immense amount of information available on the web.” • Goooooooooo, oooooooooo, oooooooooo, oooooooooo, oooooooooo, oooooooooo, oooooooooo, oooooooooo, oooooooooo, ooooooooooGle • is indeed derived from Googol • 10000000000,0000000000,0000000000,0000000000,0000000000,0000000000,0000000000,0000000000,0000000000,0000000000.Yes, that is 100 zeros! • http://www.google.com/press/facts.html

  21. ERR  • I hate blogger. When you try to use html on that site, things turn outweird.Like with blogger, html gets messed up.

  22. Wow   • I have gained a lot by using BLOG. In addition to being able to use the new vocabulary and sentence structures that I learn from week to week, I was also able to show a little bit of who I am and my background to my other friends in the class. This was my favorite aspect of using BLOG • I did not encounter any major problems while using BLOG.  • The topics on BLOG from week to week are very relevant. I always am able to incorporate the new words, structures, and ideas that I learn from week to week. It's great. I would suggest though, that maybe every other week allowing other students to write on a topic they find interesting so that students don't feel too restricted in what they can and can't write about.   • I learned many new and interesting things by reading my classmates' BLOGS such as where they were from, what places they want to visit, and what types of food they like to eat.   • I thought googlesite was a very user-friendly site. It was very easy to learn how the site works and I rarely encountered any problems.   • I loved the fact that we were able to choose our own city for the project, and the topic was good in that were were able to incorporate a majority of the words, structures, and ideas that we learned this year while working on this project: from hotels, to food, to transportation.   • I have learned that sometimes the best way to describe something is to use the easiest words possible and not to overextend yourself with the language. Simple is best!!!  • I think both are very important in the learning process. After self-editing, you still may have errors in your assignment, and the teacher can find those errors and help you fix them.   • And more more WOWs 

  23. My concern and future expectation • It will be much better to interact with people from outside rather than just classmates • Correction is time consuming • HOWEVER, it has been SO MUCH FUN. The students read and write naturally by interacting with friends! • We GO N times further with GOogle 

  24. THANK YOU KEEP GOOGLING  tanguyen@umich.edu
