  3. SAMIEEE • www.ieee.org/samieee • Chair, Secretary, MD Chair, SamIEEE recipient get access • Online training / videos / manual • Your ‘universe’ is your OU (Section, etc) • Preset filters for MD and other uses • Download link at bottom left • Honor Do Not Contact flags!!!

  4. E-Notice • Available to OUs (section, chapter, etc) • Available to conferences (limited uses) • Watch for rules for society uses • Register to use • Automatically follows rules, tracks bounces • Avoid over-use; once they opt-out hard to get them back!

  5. vTools • Growing suite of volunteer and pro developed tools to help you do your job • Meetings is tool for planning, publicizing, registering, reporting a meeting • Voting for elections • WebInABox – “instant” website • More • vtools.ieee.org

  6. Entity Web Hosting • IEEE-hosted web space for OUs, conferences, committees, projects, etc • Backed up, maintained by IEEE HQ • Free • Can use a custom URL (ieeeatlanta.org) • Content management available

  7. ListServ • Mail lists for committees (excom) and project teams • NOT for member database – use enotice! • Request list, then maintain • Members can maintain their own subscriptions

  8. Rosters and Search • www.ieee.org/rosters • All volunteers • Geo rosters (flat text files) • Shows what HQ *thinks* you do • Monitor this – submit updates every time someone changes ‘jobs’ • Volunteer search – great followup to post-meetings • Everyone on the list can see the list

  9. Online Communities • oc.ieee.org • Can request a new community • OUs, special groups (embedded) • Users have to have a web acct – can be non-member!

Does your web site have the “Top Ten”? • Section Officers and contact information • The history of the Section • Calendar of events (Current?) • Section newsletter (pdf or html format) • List of Chapters and contact information • List of Student Branches with contact information • Pages for Affinity Groups if applicable (GOLD, Women in Engineering and Consultants’ Network) • Pages for awards/educational activities/professional activities • FAQ's • Section Bylaws (pdf or html format)

  12. Functional Alias • Each Section has a functional alias • sec.tucson@ieee.org • sec.phoenix@ieee.org • sec.charlotte@ieee.org • Points to Section Chair • Updated annually when officer reporting received • Section email address is constant
