HOW DOES THIS HAPPEN TO ME? • Passwords should consist of numbers, upper and lower case letters, and special characters. • Pick nonsense phrases ex. dogsEat83Figs! • You should have multiple levels of passwords for different accounts. Ex. Banking, email, FaceBook • Keep passwords different for each login.

  6. HOW DOES THIS HAPPEN TO ME? • Keep computer software updated. Ex. operating system, anti-virus software. • Hackers often target application flaws to infect your computer. Ex. Instant Messenger(IM) and Weather Bug. • Many updates include security patches to increase .

  8. HOW DOES THIS HAPPEN TO ME? • Avoid downloading free software - Free online software often contains malware, adware, and viruses. Instead, buy the software from a store.

  9. HOW DOES THIS HAPPEN TO ME? • Avoid clicking on links, pictures, videos, emails, etc. that you are not completely sure of. This is most common way a computer gets infected. Simply opening a file can install malware on your computer.
