EOSDIS provides a production capability for standard science data products from EOS instruments. It is an active archive of Earth science data from past and present missions, with a distributed information framework supporting EOS investigators and other users in science, government, industry, education, and policy.

General Plans for 2005 • Focus on Long Term Archives • Interagency activities starting with USGS and NOAA • Includes planning, studies, schedule development, and potential workshops (needing UWG support) • Pilot effort ongoing with NOAA CLASS to test MODIS transfers • Focus on Metrics • New tools, metrics by instrument • Focus on support for NASA HQ Applications • Modeling and Decision Support Systems • Foster interagency cooperation NCEP, EPA

General Plans for 2005 • Focus on ACSI Survey with Univ of Mich • Focus on ECHO • Push to an operational EOSDIS Metadata Clearinghouse which provides access to all EOSDIS data through a single API • Focus on review of EOSDIS data collections • Data management exercise • Really needs some UWG support
