  1. Sheet metal fabrication from prototype to production volume requires several important processes. These processes can be divided into a few main categories. Each category involves a different set of skills and requires its own set of tools. Each category requires a different approach to the fabrication process. In this article we will be talking about sheet metal fabrication from prototype to production volume and at the end of the article a recommendation will be made for an excellent company to work with. The first step in the fabrication process is the cutting of metal. Many of the fabrication machines available today are excellent for this task and can save a company considerable money. The tools used are commonly referred to as anvils and hammer. This equipment is needed because it is the only means of applying mechanical force to the metal to produce accurate cuts. Next, the cutter moves from its position and begins the cut by grinding the metal. This procedure is called polishing. This process is used when cutting a very fine metal such as steel or stainless steel. After the metal is cut, the material is now sanded down to give it a smooth surface. When the material is sanded down, it is made ready to be used again in the fabrication process. This is known as coating. The next phase in this process is called stamping. This is when a mold is created using the rough piece of material to form the final shape of the material. The mold is then placed over the finished piece to hold it together until it is ready for final finishing. When the mold is complete, the last step in the fabrication process is called engraving. This process is done in order to create a unique mark on the material to give it a unique finish. Once this final finish is applied, the material is ready for final assembly. The entire process will take up to two weeks before a product is ready to be shipped to the customer. During this time, the customer will be able to see the completed product in person. As you can see, this is a detailed process that must be followed correctly to ensure that the fabrication process is done right the first time. With proper training and experience, this process can produce excellent products with the customer's approval and satisfaction. Fabrication is a vital aspect of manufacturing. If you are going to create a product for any reason at all, it is imperative that you get the design correct in order to create a quality product that the customer will be satisfied with. If you do not have the proper software to create this type of product, you may want to consider outsourcing your work to another company that can handle your design. Metal Works, Inc.
