  2. Goals • Understand process of reporting a child abuse allegation. • Understand how to ask appropriate questions.

  3. True or False • Independent Schools have a different policy compared to public schools? True • Teachers must figure out if allegations are true before reporting to the MCFD. False • Both principals and the head of school need to be notified of any report. True

  4. Scenario • Partner up with a teacher from a different division. • You will be given a role to be a teacher or a student • Go through this scenario to the best of your ability.

  5. Child Abuse Reporting Process of reporting • Fill out PA Report Form • Contact MCFD • Give Report to Principal • Principal give copy to Head

  6. Asking Questions • Questions should be open-ended. • Students should provide information freely, with little prompting. • After conversation, write down everything and use quotes whenever possible. (You may want student to repeat the statements a second time.)
