  4. What is Oracle 24/7? • UTPA’s customized version of Oracle’s e-Business Suite of software • The replacement for our current IA, FRS and HRS systems • Involves all financial and HR functions (except Student Systems or Loan Systems)

  5. What is Oracle 24/7? • State of the art technology: Oracle’s integrated database, Web-based access • A 24/7 system

  6. Why are we switching to Oracle? • The End of Life for the IA Systems is fast approaching • The IA Systems do not have all functionality that UTPA needs (e.g. On-Line Purchasing, Travel Application) • The IA System is difficult to maintain and modify

  7. Why are we switching to Oracle? Our current IA System is • Not Web-Based • NOT 24/7 (requires nightly downtime for batch processing) • Old Technology (1980’s)
