Operating at local, state, and national levels, FFA is led by elected student officers who provide direction and inspiration. Chapters can be found in public schools with agricultural programs, where collaboration between student leaders and teachers fosters a strong foundation for future careers in agriculture.

  3. What do the letters FFA stand for??? • Future Farmers of America • However in 1988 the name was changed to the National FFA Organization to reflect the growing diversity in agricultural education. • This the name that FFA is known by and does business under.

  4. FFA Organizational Structure • 3 levels • Local • State • National

  5. National FFA • Lead by a board of directors and 6 student national officers • Officers represent the members and actively guide the course of the organization during their year of service. • Officers are • President • Secretary • 4 regional Vice Presidents

  6. State FFA • Lead by 6 student officers in SD • Function within the constitution of the national organization • Chapters are chartered through their state association

  7. SD State Officers • President: Maria Rausch • Vice President: Brittany Gassman • Secretary: Kiley Kaufman • Tresurer: Spencer Chase • Reporter: Danielle Busselman • Sentinel: Hannah Johnson • Advisor: Mrs. Tiffany Sanderson

  8. Local Chapter • Heart of the organization • FFA chapters may be chartered in any public school with an agricultural education program. • Leadership comes from student officers and the agricultural teacher who serves as an advisor to guide the chapter
