  2. E E R T N L E E Terylene is a type of synthetic fibre which is used for making clothes. Like nylon, terylene is also elastic ,highly durable, wrincle resistant and moth resistant . It is synthetic polysterfibre or fabric characterized by lightness and crease resistence used for making clothes ,sheets ,ropes and many more items. It is widely used for making dress materials , sails for boats and conveyor belts too. PRERNA RNO-21

  3. TERYLENE • Trade name for a synthetic polyester fibre produced by the chemicals company ICI. • Trade name for a synthetic polyester fibre produced by the chemicals company ICI. • Cloth made from Terylene keeps its shape after washing and is hard-wearing. • Terylene was the first wholly synthetic fibre invented in Britain. It was created by the chemist J R Whinfield of Accrington in 1941. Rashi Rno.23

  4. PRODUCTION OF TERYLENE • Terylene is used as a fibre. • In condensation polymerisation, when the monomers join together a small molecule gets lost. That's different from addition polymerisation which produces polymers like polyethene - in that case, nothing is lost when the monomers join together. • A polyester is made by a reaction involving an acid with two -COOH groups, and an alcohol with two -OH groups. Rashi Rno.23

  5. TERYLENE’S USES • Terylene is a popular form of polyester, which can be drawn into very fine fibres. These fibres can be woven like any other yarn. Terylene fibres are strong and elastic in nature. They absorb very little water and hence dry quickly. • They are crease resistant hence require very less ironing. They are resistant to attack of moths and fungi. It is used for making Clothing, sheets, Ropes, Ribbons, clothes and tapes. • USES OF TERYLENE ARE AS FOLLOW: • Terylene is used for making fabrics like terycot which is a mixture of terylene and cotton. • It is also used in making terywool and tericot. • It is also used for making conveyor belts. ROHAN RNO-24

  6. DISADVANTAGEES OF TERYLENE • It is not comfortable at all . • Its dyebility is worse. • It contains many chemicals which may harm our skin ROHAN RNO-24 Rohan
