HEALTH CARE CAREER ACADEMY MODELCross-site Challenges • Sustainability, esp. coordinator/navigator position • Direct participant costs (books, tuition, transportation, internships) exceed what WIA can generally afford • Paying for developmental education • Communication with families • Receptivity to Running Start at the high schools varies • Job shadows can be complex to arrange— “class shadows” as an alternative? • Tracking longer-term student outcomes
