Enhancing Railway Vehicle Performance Through Simulation Modelling of Guidance Mechanisms

This project presents a simulation model aimed at addressing low adhesion and associated issues such as reduced traction and extended braking distances in railway vehicles. The initial phase focuses on real-time estimation of low adhesion at the wheel-rail interface, utilizing a simplified rail vehicle model to study dynamic behavior. Future work will enhance the vehicle's suspension system complexity and analyze non-linear wheel-rail contact profiles to improve real-time adhesion estimations, ensuring safer and more efficient railway operations.
