  2. Food, Clothing, Religion, Language • Food- They never dine out and women prepare the food. They eat 3 meals a day. Traditional foods: Gulas, Svickova, Rajska. • Clothing- They have traditional folk clothing and clothing like us. • Religion- Roman Catholic, Protestant, Other/Unspecified • Language- Czech, Slovak, Other

  3. Traditions, Arts, History • Traditions- New Years, Hromnice, Easter, Burning of the Witches, Day of Love, All Souls Day, St. Nicolas, and Christmas. • History- Jan Huss, WWII, End of Communism. • Clothing- They have traditional folk clothing and clothing like us.

  4. What do we need to know about these people to understand what makes their culture unique? What you need to know is…. • people still dress like the did • back in the 1800’s and earlier • they don’t have an independence day • they only have two main religions • they only have two main languages

  5. 30,450 Square Miles of Awesomeness Czech is 30,450 square miles. Mountains nearly surround the edge of the country like a border. The highest point is Mt. Snezka in the Sudetic Mountains. The point is only 5,259 ft. The western part of Czech (Bohemia) is mostly flat. The western part (Moravia) has gently rolling hills. The country is landlocked. They mostly have plains, mountains, and forests.

  6. Shiver me Timbers They have a continental climate. (Same as us) They have freezing winters and scorching summers. Their natural resources include hard coal, soft coal, kaolin, graphite, and timber/wood.

The industrial side is that most of their jobs include working as miners and working in factories. The agricultural side is that Czech has forests and one of their natural resources is timber.   8. Uh Oh! Current Event Affect on the U.S. The president of Czech is resigning because members of council are going to accuse him with proof of treason. • Could start a war. • Could become a member of the UNSC • Could tell the people bad stuff about us.

  10. What does the economic data reveal about their quality of life? They have a high standard of living. You can tell because they have a low poverty rate. Another way you can see is that they have a low unemployment rate. Yet, they are a developing country. They import a lot of goods and they have a GDP growth rate of -1%.
