  3. CoPPA – who? • Court of Protection Practitioner’s Association • Wide membership, lawyers but also IMCAs, social workers, medical professionals, anyone working professionally in the CoP or with people who lack capacity

  4. CoPPA – why? • Two sides of the CoP have emerged, the property & affairs and the health & welfare • Coming from different backgrounds. Existing groups eg STEP, SFE, MHLA didn’t speak to all • Knowledge of the both sides of the CoP enhances the service each of us can provide to our clients or service users • To bring together the full range of professionals working in the CoP to increase understanding and co-operation
