  15. “I Heart Summerland” • A video based marketing campaign powered via social media. SCEDT creates “I Heart Summerland” signs, Summerlanders borrow the signs to create mini-videos and photos, SCEDT hires a team to create polished video. • Extensions into clothing, bags, flags, banners, chalk drawings, murals • Low cost, high community involvement • Inspiration: Under 45 Pub Night and Grand Rapid Lip Dub

Building Connections • 9 Business After Business Networking Event and include a structured format for business networking and sharing • 4 Pub Nights for members aged 19-45 • 2 social evening for members who are 40 years of age and older • Monthly “Coffee with Council” at SCEDT from 8-9 am on Monday mornings

  18. Projects • Advocate for highway directional signage • Create new Visit Summerland website • Produce Back Roads map, farm stand map (members only). • Produce winery/varietal map with hours of operation. • Chair a regular Tourism Committee. • 2% Marketing Tax

  19. Friday Night Markets • Create a Friday Night Main Street Market with live entertainment, artisans, farmers, crafts, member displays and booths. Coincide with Friday night movies in the park (SMC). • Encourage downtown business to stay open. • Partner with Summerland Merchants Committee and Farmers Market. • Support SWR downtown shuttle and include Friday nights in July and August. • Purpose: Revitalize Main Street, create a reason and opportunity to shop and eat Summerland.

Be Green, Buy Local • Public awareness campaign to highlight the economic and social importance in supporting local shops, services and businesses. • Launch during Earth Week • Build on Summerland’s “green” reputation • Cost-share promotional materials • Shopping bags, t-shirts, hats, pins, posters

Projects, Workshops, Training • Support Summerland Review annual Christmas Bear campaign. • Marketing workshops with Kim Lawton to include coupon/flyer package for Summerland residents • Direct mail postcards to specific areas using Google Analytics and information from Economic Gardening participation as a guide. (ie. targeted direct mail to Vancouver, Surrey, Calgary, Edmonton) • July and August Edition of Summerland Visitor Paper
