  3. God’s Recipe for Revival “If my people who are called by My name…” (1) Humble Themselves (2) Pray (3) Seek His Face (4) Turn From Their Wicked Ways.

  4. Pride Stops Revival

  5. Humility is the realization that one cannot exist without God.

  6. Pride brings Destruction. • Proverbs 16:18-19 Pride goes before destruction, And a haughty spirit before a fall. Better to be of a humble spirit with the lowly, Than to divide the spoil with the proud. • Proverbs 18:12 Before destruction the heart of a man is haughty, And before honor is humility.

  7. Pride brings Shame • Proverbs 11:2 When pride comes, then comes shame; But with the humble is wisdom.

  8. Pride brings hopelessness • Proverbs 26:12 Do you see a man wise in his own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for him.

  9. Pride Causes A Person To Forget God • Psalm 10:4 The wicked in his proud countenance does not seek God; God is in none of his thoughts. • James 4:13-16 - …But now you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting is evil.

  10. God Brings The Proud Low • Proverbs 29:23 A man’s pride will bring him low, But the humble in spirit will retain honor.

  11. God Resists The Proud • James 4:6-10 But He gives more grace. Therefore He says:“God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.” Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Lament and mourn and weep! Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.

  12. Pride Causes us to become Lukewarm • Revelation 3:15-19 …Because you say, ‘I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing’—and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked—

  13. Humility Releases Revival!

  14. The humble receive God’s Grace Proverbs 3:33-34 The curse of the LORD is on the house of the wicked, But He blesses the home of the just. Surely He scorns the scornful, But gives grace to the humble.

  15. The Humble receive God’s Forgiveness Proverbs 28:13-14 He who covers his sins will not prosper, But whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy. Happy is the man who is always reverent, But he who hardens his heart will fall into calamity.

  16. The Humble receive God’s Blessing 1 Peter 5:5-7 Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to your elders. Yes, all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble. Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.

  17. The humble Receive God’s Ear • Psalm 10:17-18 LORD, You have heard the desire of the humble; You will prepare their heart; You will cause Your ear to hear, To do justice to the fatherless and the oppressed, That the man of the earth may oppress no more.

  18. Humble Yourselves and Prepare for Revival!

  19. (1) Seeking humility means that we confess our burden for the way things are.

  20. (2) Seeking Humility is to feel a burden for our own lack of righteousness.

  21. (3) Seeking Humility is the willingness to • stress the • disciplines of • prayer and • fasting.

  22. Revival comes after Brokenness!
