  1. DIAM Australia was established in Australia in 1992, as a commodities firm, and later became DIAM Australia Group in 2000. DIAM Australia quickly grew to become one of Australia’s largest exporters of construction grade base materials, and helped to pioneer the country’s first secondary steel market. Daya Fernando, the company’s founder and Managing Director, has over 40 years of experience in business and commodities trading, and first began ventures in renewable energy as far back as 1975 with Kodak.

  2. For the last 16 years of operation as DIAM Australia Group, the company has helped to support Australia’s booming steel interests in new emerging markets throughout Asia. In 2016, DIAM Australia is looking to expand it’s renewable energy presence by exploring new technologies and methods of deployment, through their subsidiary AUS DM Pty Ltd.   3. Solar is currently the fastest growing source of renewable energy in the world. Germany is the world’s largest solar producer, and is currently planning to be 100% solar powered by 2050. India's big move into solar is already paying off. If current trends hold, the consultancy predicts electricity from solar will actually be 10% cheaper than domestic coal by 2020. In the US, Solar energy has become so popular and efficient that in many regions, it costs less than electricity from natural gas. Solar and Wind energy currently generates 140% of Denmark’s national electricity demand. London is about to deploy Europe’s largest floating solar array, generating electricity for thousands of homes, and helping to reduce the evaporation of fresh water sources.

  4. The cost of solar globally has become drastically more competitive than traditional means.

  5. Sri Lanka lies within the equatorial sun belt, a region where substation solar energy resources exist. Data obtained by NASA imaging satellites indicates levels of solar radiation in parts of SRI LANKA are ample for large scale harnessing of solar energy Certain areas in Sri Lanka allow for the generation of solar electricity for up to 320 days of the year.

  6. AUTO TRACKING SYSTEM These systems rotate the solar panels along the path of the sun, to generate the maximum possible amount of energy throughout the day. There are no fuel or emissions costs for these systems. SOLAR FACADES Solar panels installed on correctly facing windows allow commercial and residential buildings to generate their own power. SOLAR ROOF SYSTEMS Transparent solar panels installed on a roof allow generation of energy at commercial sites. These can be used to replace windows, allowing natural light to flow through, while also generating power.
