  1. Informatica DVO Informatica DVO Walkthrough By -Ajay Date: 03/26/2019

  2. Agenda • Motivation –Why DVO ? • Introduction – DVO • DVO Architecture • Features supported in DVO • Key pointers on DVO • Reports Generation • Demo • Questions?

  3. Motivation- Why DVO • Huge amount of data .What should I do ?? • Large volumes of data in heterogeneous environments • Manual Vs Automation • Regression Test • Test Results (Reporting) • Data Completeness and Accuracy

  4. Introduction – DVO • Data validation Option is an Automated ETL Testing tool which comes along with power center and enables to test and validate data • Helps in verifying the completeness and accuracy of data after data migration • Reads table definitions from Power Center metadata repositories

  5. DVO Architecture

  6. Features supported in DVO • Table Pair • Single Table Constraints • SQL Views • Lookup Views • Join Views • Aggregate Views • Import and Export of Test • XML and Flat File Test • Aggregate Test and Expression • Report generation

  7. What can’t be Tested vs What can be Tested What can’t be Tested ? • Mappings and Workflows can’t be tested • It doesn’t attempt to identify Bug in ETL process • Can’t Identify the source of inconsistencies What can be Tested ? • Only data validation can be done • DVO only reads table definition from PowerCenter Metadata repositories ,and checks the data at either end of the process • Can identify inconsistency in data

  8. POC RESULTS

  9. DVO POC Demo • Table Pair (2 Different database through SQL View) • Table Pair ( 2 Different database through Table Pair) • Single Table (Aggregates and Constraint Check through SQL View) • Single Table (Aggregates and Constraint Check through Table Pair) • Flat File (Through SQL View) • Fat File(Through Table Pair) • Table Pair ( 2 homogenous database through Join View)

  10. Power center Steps: Launch Informatica Power centerdesigner and connect to INFAPCD1 Repository
