4. 2009 LSP Appreciation Event: UITS SharePoint & IUSPUG What is SharePoint • SharePoint is a gateway into secure Intranet environment without the need for a Webmaster or Systems Administrator to modify site content and site organization. • Empowers departments to build an intranet site with little to no programming staff. • SharePoint used to supplement not replace other university technologies and fill the gaps that other web applications and services do not serve specifically for internal data.

10. 2009 LSP Appreciation Event: UITS SharePoint & IUSPUG 3 Tier Model Tier 1 • FREE!!! • If you currently have a site in our environment, this is what you have. • Site collection with an unlimited number of sub sites. • Default quota of 5GB which can be increased to 10GB if necessary. • Housed on our main SQL Cluster. • No Custom Code beyond what you can do out of the box or with SharePoint Designer

11. 2009 LSP Appreciation Event: UITS SharePoint & IUSPUG 3 Tier Model Tier 2 • It isn’t available yet but will be soon. • 100GB quota per site collection. • This is a hard limit due to SharePoint and SQL limitations • There will be a charge for this similar to the disk costs in the Intelligent Infrastructure • No Custom Code beyond what you can do out of the box or with SharePoint Designer
