As participants in this meeting, we need to be mindful of the constraints of antitrust laws. • There shall be no discussions of agreements or concerted actions that may restrain competition. • This prohibition includes the exchange of information concerning pricing, rates, coverages, market practices or any other competitive aspect of an individual company’s operation. • Each participant is obligated to speak up immediately for the purpose of preventing any discussion falling outside these bounds. Charter scope To discuss, develop, create consensus and document the following: • Identify, classify and prioritize safety risks - known and anticipated safety risks (based on the agreed scope) in a framework with clear criteria • Develop and disseminate risk reduction recommendations – to enterprises, device manufacturers, systems integrators, operators and organizations defining safety strategies and polices for enterprises • Propose research projects and programs – to document, inform and increase awareness of safety risk and risk reduction measures

  9. Scope (as drafted) The AREA Safety Committee will focus on current and future safety risks associated with hands-free, head-mounted display (wearables) in enterprise environments while performing tasks that may or may not be assisted with Augmented Reality systems.

High level plan - Deliverables and Deadlines 1) Design a Web-based AREA Safety Risks Repository to hold risk information (risk definition, classification, priority, recommendations, updates, etc.) - End Oct 2017 2) Review safety-based AR “desktop research” (exhaustive list of AR safety issues) being undertaken by Boeing Add preliminary research results to Safety Risks Repository – exclusively for AREA members – Oct 2017 3) Brainstorm and add current / potential AR safety risks, categories and criteria Add to Safety Risks Repository – end-Oct 2017 4) Test and validate Safety Risk Repository - with AREA members to add current / potential risks Send questionnaire - add results to Safety Risks Repository – mid-Nov 2017 5) Acquire additional inputs from AR ecosystem and workplace safety professionals Create and promote questionnaire – add results to Safety Risks Repository - provide limited feedback to responders – end Nov 2017

High level plan - Deliverables and Deadlines 6) AREA Safety Committee to categorize and prioritize risks Add categories to Safety Risks Repository - ongoing (review at each Committee meeting) 7) AREA Safety Committee agree and document recommendations Based on the AREA risk categories, develop recommendations to reduce risks and share with/incorporate feedback from members– ongoing (review at each Committee meeting) 8) AREA Safety Committee present and discuss with appropriate organizations defining safety strategies Share and discuss with Health and Safety Executives and boards – ongoing (after repository has been populated) 9) AREA Safety Committee create research proposals to help increase awareness and reduce AR safety risks Potential to be funded to AREA research committee or allocate other budget (to be agreed by the AREA board)
