Ensuring Safety in Childcare: The "Nacka – A Safe Place" Quality Diploma Program

Established in 1998 by the Child Care Authority, the "Nacka – A Safe Place" diploma program promotes safety and injury prevention in childcare settings. This initiative requires preschools and childminders to meet specific criteria, including regular safety audits, incident reporting, and a proactive safety action plan. To maintain the award, participants must submit biannual reports demonstrating ongoing adherence to safety standards. With over 50 institutions awarded, the program has significantly improved safety awareness and reduced accidents while positively engaging parents and staff.
