  2. This is going to be a fun and successful year! You CAN Learn – You WILL Learn!

  3. HOOAH Plan! Havesupplies at table & be seated when bell rings Obeydirections the first time given Operatevoice at level suited for activity Accomplishall homework& activities assigned Honorpeople & equipment in classroom

  4. Topics we will study (1st 9 Weeks): Safety, Scientific Methods & Measurement

  5. Topics we will study (2nd 9 Weeks): Chemistry & Geology

  6. Topics we will study (3rd 9 Weeks): Astronomy, Physics & Energy

  7. Topics we will study (4th 9 Weeks): Biology & Ecology

  8. In each unit, we will learn about our natural world and apply concepts to solve problems through hands-on activities and labs.

  9. Students will use a Interactive Science Notebook to learn and remember important scientific concepts.

  10. Students will work together in pairs & groups to learn how to conduct labs using scientific methods, analyzing data, making informed decisions, and using tools to collect, analyze, and record information.

  11. Tests, Projects, and Interactive Science Notebook are Major Grades. Daily participation, quizzes, and homework are Daily Grades.

  12. The Major Grade average and the Daily Grade average are each worth 50% of the overall average.

  13. Make-Up Work A student who misses class will need to make up the work missed. It is the student’s responsibility to get Make-Up work. (Tutorial is Tuesday at 8:10 AM)

  14. Late Work Homework when assigned, is due at the beginning of the class. If a student doesn’t have their work in class, it is late and will be given late work consequences.

  15. This is going to be a fun and successful year! “Think as a scientist… record as a scientist… and reflect as a scientist!”
