  1. Gum disease or Periodontal disease is one of the most common oral diseases in the world. It is an infection of gums, teeth, and bone that surrounds the teeth. There are two stages of gum disease: Gingivitis and Periodontitis. Gingivitis is the early stage of gum disease which can easily be reversed by following good oral hygiene and regularly visiting your dentist. Periodontitis is the final stage of gum disease which can only be treated by surgery. Ignoring gum disease at this stage can result in tooth loss and even spread the disease to neighboring teeth.
