  8. Bellringer • EVERY Bell, we will begin class with a bellringer. • You should immediately write the Date and Objective for the day • --------------------------------------------------------- • If you finish early work on your Spiral Review • Once we have 5 Bellringers on the sheet I will either roll or choose to see if we are taking those 5 for a grade. • 1 or 2: No Grade, file it away in your binder • 3 or 4: Completion Grade ( I check for a problem and date for each day) • 5 or 6: Accuracy Grade (I will chose one day to grade for accuracy) • We will go over the bell ringer to begin our notes. • EASY POINTS HERE PEOPLE!

  9. Grading • ASCEND: I routinely update ASCEND over the weekend. • Monday would be the most up to date to access the most accurate grade. • If you see a mistake, please contact me immediately and I will mark in my gradebook to be updated as soon as possible. • Extra Credit/Financial Fitness: • Lead by Mr. Gundrum • Sign up when you see it by the homework board (only room for 25) • Use their recess/lunch period to eat, discuss, and interact with topics ranging from the stock market to budgets and banking. • May have additional worksheet as ADDITIONAL extra credit

  10. That being said… Do the Regular Credit FIRST

  11. Homework • Can be video notes or practice problems. • practice problems will be a 5 point grade: • 4 points are received for attempting all questions in full (all parts included). • 1 point is received for the correct and complete answer the questions taken for accuracy. • Spiral Review: These review problems cover topics from previous Units (including the previous grade). • Spiral Review will be due each Monday. • You can ask questions during bellringer, homeroom, or recess • Not having your homework will result in an Academic Notice • 2 Academic Notices is a Point • 3 missing assignments at the end of the trimester in all subject areas keeps you off honor roll!

  12. We have a Interactive textbook • Go math textbooks are “Write in” • We will tear out Unit by Unit. • Before learning a Unit: kept in closet • While learning a Unit: Torn out and in Binder • After Tested: In storage and passed back before Exam • I CAN take my notes if I need them but I should always put them back to stay organized.

  13. Video Notes Your homework may be to watch a 10-15 minute long video about our content. You will have a question about the video notes as your bellringer the next day. Your first Video Notes will be a practice 

  14. Tips from former students to succeed in our Flipped Classroom: • LISTEN and RELISTEN to the video notes. • You can pause and rewind as much as you want. • Fast forwarding to just write down the answers is not a good idea. • Write down or mark any questions you have for the next class. • If you have a technical issue, email Mrs. O immediately and follow up the next morning

  15. Make Up Work • I am very tempted to give a POP QUIZ on these procedures FYI! • If you are Absent: the paper goes into the “Absent” hanging folder on the windowsill. • YOU are responsible for anything that you miss in class. • Tests must be made up during recess the day you return to school. It is YOUR responsibility to set up a time to make-up a test.

  16. Late Work I will accept late work for ½ credit. After one week it will become a 0% in the grade book. • All work is due at the beginning of class. • I put any extra copies of handouts in my “extra copies” bin • BOTTOM LINE: TURN IN YOUR WORK ON TIME! It reduces hassle for you and myself.

  17. Tests • Tests will be announced at least one week in advance for students to prepare. • Information for tests and quizzes will be taken from but not limited to • video notes content • textbook content • graphic organizers and foldable • previous homework and classwork.

  18. Recycling • If you are unhappy with a test/quiz grade you are able to recycle for ½ of your points back • Anyone can recycle, no matter the grade • Recycling is done AT RECESS • ALL Tests and Quizzes are kept in storage until the end of the Trimester/Year • You Exam content comes from your tests and Quizzes • You will turn tests and quizzes back in after Exams

  19. WordWall • You will get a file folder, this is your word wall. • Remember those 20 minutes of studying if you finish your homework at school? This is Perfect for it! • It’s concept is very simple: We meet a new word, it goes on the wall.
