  9. 1 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, concerning the Word of life; • 2 the life was manifested, and we have seen, and bear witness, and declare to you that eternal life which was with the Father and was manifested to us; • 3 that which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ. • 4 And these things we write to you that your joy may be full. 1 John 1:1-4

  10. 1 John 1:1-4 Verse 1 Here’s the real deal! “That which was from the beginning,” Was = was already in existence John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He is eternal! *All that He promises is eternal, not temporary

  11. 1 John 1:1-4 Verse 1 “which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon” Eternal God has been has come down for us to see John 1:14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. God not only reached down, He came down!

  12. 1 John 1:1-4 Verse 1 “which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon” How we deal with Jesus is how we deal with God. Isaiah 40:12 Who has measured the waters in the hollow of His hand, Measured heaven with a span And calculated the dust of the earth in a measure? Weighed the mountains in scales And the hills in a balance?

  13. 1 John 1:1-4 Verse 1 “which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon” 2 Peter 1:16 For we did not follow cunningly devised fables when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of His majesty.

  14. 1 John 1:1-4 Verse 1 “and our hands have handled,” Luke 24:36-43 Now as they said these things, Jesus Himself stood in the midst of them, and said to them, “Peace to you.” But they were terrified and frightened, and supposed they had seen a spirit. And He said to them, “Why are you troubled? Andy why do doubts arise in your hearts? Behold My hands and My feet, that it is I Myself, Handle Me and see, for a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see I have,” When He had said this , He showed them His hands and His feet.

  15. 1 John 1:1-4 Verse 1 “concerning the Word of life.” John 1:1,14 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. Why is Christ called the Word? The Bible Exposition Commentary
