Quick methods on how to check ink level on hp printer Turn on the printer and the system. Connect the printer to the Windows or Mac system. Use the Windows or Mac compatible software to check the ink level. Use the HP Solution Center software for Windows system. Find the HP Utility software for the Mac system. Download and install the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool to check ink level. Install the HP Smart App on your mobile device. Use this app to check the ink level on the go.  Descriptive steps on checking ink level on hp printer Find the ink drop or icon on the printer’s control panel to verify the estimated ink level.
