  1. THE GREATCOMMISSION Apostle Ronald C. Hill, Sr. February 8, 2012 @ 7:30pm February 11, 2012 @ 9:00am

  2. com·mis·sion[kuh-mish-uhn] • is the act of granting certain powers or the authority to carry out a particular task or duty. A group of people officially authorized to perform certain duties or functions.

  3. A.In St. Mark 16:15 the Lord Jesus gives the commission to the disciples on the eve of Christ’s Ascension. He commanded the disciples to preach the gospel to the whole creation. The Savior’s goal was world evangelism.

  4. St Mark 16:15 15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

  5. B.The Lord informed them that there would be two results when they preached the gospel. Some would believe and be saved; some would disbelieve and be condemned.

  6. St Mark 16:16 16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

  7. C.The important question to be asked today is “Does the born again Christian” have the same commission upon their lives that was given to the first disciples?

  8. II Corinthians 5:18 18 And all things [are] of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;

  9. D. All things are of God. He is the source and author of them all. There is no ground for human boasting.

  10. 1.God has also reconciled us to Himself. He has received us into favor, bringing us into harmony with Himself.

  11. 2.God has also given us (the believer) the ministry of reconciliation. We are to aim to bring others into harmony with Him.

  12. II Corinthians 5:19 19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

  13. E.The ministry of reconciliation is to share the message that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself.

  14. 1.It was God (personally present) in Christ, reconciling and restoring the world to favor with Himself.

  15. 2.God does not count men’s’ sins against them if they accept Christ as their savior. He reconciles us by blotting out our sins.

  16. 3.God has commissioned the born again believer to promote the message of reconciliation. The Gospel is the message of reconciliation. The Gospel is the good news.

  17. 3.The good news is that God has provided a way for sinful man to have his sins not only forgiven; but he can become a new creation through Christ

  18. II Corinthians 5:17 17 Therefore if any man [be] in Christ, [he is] a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

  19. II Corinthians 5:20 20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech [you] by us: we pray [you] in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.

  20. am·bas·sa·dor/amˈbasədər/ • is an authorized messenger or representative of their government or some other sovereign authority. They do business on the behalf of another. When they deliver the message they have been

  21. am·bas·sa·dor/amˈbasədər/ • given; they have the support and backing of the government they represent.

  22. F.The believer is an ambassador for the Lord. What a high and lofty position to be in. God has entrusted us with this marvelous privilege of going forth and representing Him by

  23. F.preaching the glorious message of the gospel to all men everywhere and for sure we will have His support and backing when we do and say what He has instructed us to do. God did not give this sacred

  24. F.charge to angels, but to feeble men like us.

  25. As Christ’s personal representatives we are to beg men to accept Christ for his sake.

  26. St. Luke 14:23 23 And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel [them] to come in, that my house may be filled.

  27. G.The word COMPELS means “to fall upon”. To force, to drive, or constrain. To exact a strong irresistible force on. We are not to compel by force of arms as has been done in the history of

  28. G.Christendom, such as the early century religious military campaigned crusades, but rather by force of a loving argument.

  29. 1.If we would stop to consider the fact that when a soul dies without Christ they will burn in hell forever; I don’t think we would be so lackadaisical when it comes to sharing the gospel.

  30. 2.Most church fellowships are disinterested in winning souls to Christ. Why you may ask? A large number of them have been distracted by satan using people and things to cause them to turn away from

  31. 2.what is most important to God. Most churchgoers are mainly concerned about what they are going to receive and or what position they hold in the church. There is a great distraction because there is

  32. 2.a great distortion of the word of God.

  33. My prayer for us is that God would reveal to all of us the deep love that He has for sinners and the fact that He can not completely express His love without someone in the earth that will allow Him to express His love through them.

  34. Someone must be willing to die to his or herself and allow God to have complete control over their lives. Then God will fill that soul with Himself; train that soul; then flow through that soul and show His love and glory to the world.

  35. H.THE MAKING OF A GOD-FILLED WITNESS

  36. #1 The first step is to surrender ones self completely to the Lord. We must relinquish possession and control of all that we are to the Lord.

  37. St. Matthew 16:24 24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any [man] will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

  38. #2 We must submit ourselves to follow Christ. He will then teach us to be soul winners.

  39. St. Matthew 4:18 18 And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers.

  40. St. Matthew 4:19 19 And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.

  41. #3 We must be filled and led by the Holy Spirit.

  42. Acts 1:8 • 8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

  43. #4 We must rely on the Holy Spirit to draw men to Christ and to show them their sinfulness.

  44. St. John 6:44 44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

  45. St. John 16:7 7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.

  46. St. John 16:8 8 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:

  47. I.The Greek word for reprove is “Elengcho” and it means to convict or convince.

  48. 1.The ministry of the Holy Spirit is a convicting and convincing ministry. He will convict of sin, as the child of God is preaching the Gospel of Christ.

  49. 2.Again it is a major key for the child of God to be filled with the Holy Spirit. The second key is for the child of God to preach the Gospel of Christ. With this conviction soul winning is a sure thing.

  50. J.We must always remember the main reason Christ came to the earth
