Discovering India: A Journey Through Culture, Geography, and History

In this engaging curriculum designed for 3rd-grade students, we explore the rich tapestry of India, the seventh-largest country in the world. Students will learn to locate India in Asia, identify its major rivers and states, and appreciate the significance of the Ganges. Through a fun and participative approach, they will delve into the history of the Taj Mahal, understand the cultural reverence of the Karni Mata Temple, and reflect on the differences between Indian culture and their own. The program culminates in a creative digital exercise capturing their discoveries.

  2. 2º ciclo. 3er curso OBJETIVOS • Localizar la India en el continente de Asia, sus estados y sus ríos más relevantes. • Nombrar su capital y las ciudades más importantes. • Conocer la importancia del río Ganges y de los ríos más destacados de la India, en la vida natural y cultural del país. • Saber las características de Nanda Devi. • Apreciar y conocer la historia y la leyenda del Taj Majal. • Conocer el Templo Karni Mata y su historia. • Distinguir algunos personajes célebres de la India. • Reflexionar sobre las diferencias entre nuestra cultura y la de la India. • Fomentar una actitud positiva hacia la percepción de otras culturas

  3. Metodología La metodología llevada a cabo ha sido flexible, participativa y lúdica. Los niños han investigado sobre el tema de manera autónoma (aprender a aprender), buscando información e interesándose en esta cultura tan diferente a la nuestra. Se ha trabajado de manera individual y en grupos. Temporalización He llevado a cabo 10 sesiones de 20 minutos cada una.
