  18. Failback Replication • Problem: The biggest challenge to face once you failover to a DR location is the getting your data back to it’s original location • Solution: Failback replication allows an IT admin to quickly and easily replicate data back to the primary location when it comes back online by only sending new blocks that have been created while the business used the offsite location. 19. Failback Replication ReadyDATA 5200 ReadyDATA 5200 Production Location Disaster Recovery Location Replication internet In this solution we have some users accessing data on a primary ReadyDATA that is configured with hourly snapshot protection and replication to a DR Location. The ReadyDATA 5200s could be hosting files, VMs, databases, iSCSI LUNs, or even backup Images etc … Footer use for Presentation Title or footnotes

  20. Failback Replication ReadyDATA 5200 ReadyDATA 5200 Production Location Disaster Recovery Location Replication internet When your Production Location goes offline, your DR Location springs into action! Footer use for Presentation Title or footnotes

  21. Failback Replication ReadyDATA 5200 ReadyDATA 5200 Production Location Disaster Recovery Location internet The administrator makes the data in DR Location available for everyone. This is a fast process as data doesn’t need to be restored. Users start to access and create new data. Footer use for Presentation Title or footnotes

  22. Failback Replication ReadyDATA 5200 ReadyDATA 5200 Production Location Disaster Recovery Location internet At some point the Production site comes online, but is now out of date Footer use for Presentation Title or footnotes

  23. Failback Replication ReadyDATA 5200 ReadyDATA 5200 Production Location Disaster Recovery Location Failback Replication internet Now we can configure a new replication job (Failback Replication) to send any changed data from the DR site back to the original location. 24. Failback Replication ReadyDATA 5200 ReadyDATA 5200 Production Location Disaster Recovery Location Failback Replication internet We then get our user to start using the primary site again when it’s convenient and remove the “Failback” Replication Job. 25. Failback Replication ReadyDATA 5200 ReadyDATA 5200 Production Location Disaster Recovery Location Replication internet Finally, we recreate the original replication job, without the need to send any new data! … At this point we have failed back from DR and the Primary site is protected once more.
