  4. Key Exit Poll Data from 2008 Presidential Election • By virtually every electoral measure – • including age, sex, race, religion, income and region – • McCain lost ground won by George W. Bush four years ago • Barack Obama won overwhelmingly among blacks, Hispanics and voters under the age of 30 and he made critical inroads with swing groups like Catholics, suburbanites, political independents and even veterans • Hispanic voters represented greatest electoral shift. • Nationwide, they voted 67% for Obama and 31% for McCain. • In 2004, 53% went for John Kerry and • 44% voted for George W. Bush
