  2. Mrs. Kinley 6th year at Hadley Live in West Chicago with my husband, my 20-month old son, Noah, and two stepsons, Ryan (age 19), and Kyle (age 17). I have two cats that I simply adore, Magic (age 5) and Sassafraz (kitten). My hobbies include art, camping, and teaching! Graduated from University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh, Bachelor’s Degree in Broad field Science Did you receive my Kinley Korner Newsletter? Did you sign a Lab SAFETY contract with your science student? Science Binder & Journal Importance Binderincludes a daily Table of Contents, AND all handouts and lab sheets given during the entire unit DailyJournalincludes dates, lab partners, names of activities, materials used, illustrations, procedures, conclusions, and reflections Neatness and organization of BOTH their Binder & Journal will be of upmost importance! Lost binders or journals will need to be recreated after school.

Homework Expectations • Review Science Journal and Binder weekly for at least 10-15 minutes • Log onto my Teacher Website for the day’s homework assignments: www.jkinley.d41teachers.org • Check Parent email daily for latest updates, reminders, review slideshows, and behavior status of your science student • Contact me with any questions or concerns at: jkinley@d41.org

  7. I strongly encourage you to visit the Pinnacle online parent viewer for GRADES on a regular basis with your student. Grades will be updated weekly

Parent Viewer • This will open on September 17th • You are receiving a confidential letter that contains directions on how you can access information about your student’s grades. • Please share the password you create with your student, so that they may freely access their grades at home or at school.

  9. Standards-Based Grading 98% or higher = A (Advanced achievement) 85%-97% = M (Meeting the Illinois learning standard being assessed) 70-84% = P (Progressing to meet the standard being assessed) 69% or lower = NM (Mot Meeting)

Teacher Availability Students are encouraged to visit my classroom before or after school when they feel that they need any extra assistance, practice and review on specific concepts, practice on web-based interactive sites, or just visit me! Please remind your child that this is a daily opportunity that is available to them and is quite rewarding!
