    5. Treasury Accounting Symbols (TAS Codes) “All governmental transactions are identified by Treasury symbol and applicable fund code. The Treasury symbol assigned to an account is determined after consideration of the Government’s relationship to the account, the source of the receipt, and the availability of the fund for expenditure.” (DoT). TAS codes are required for all civilian agencies, for all actions except actions that equal $0. Currently the TAS code is entered in 6M Description: The TAS code(s) should have a space(s) between the segments TAS::75 0849::TAS Description of goods or services procured (if you are NOT using a sub-account code) TAS::75 0123 555::TAS Description of goods or services procured (if you ARE using a sub-account code) 5 New Requirements
