  1. This recommended guide is to help schools and teachers develop long-range plans regarding the teaching of social studies and science over the course of the year. Both social studies and science are allotted 90 days of instruction each, so formulating a long-term plan is essential in order to make sure all of the indicators in both subjects aretaught. In both subjects, each lesson is designed as a 45 minute daily lesson. The sequence takes into account a variety of factors including the social studies unit order, life science organism availability, and state testing schedules.
