12. The Howard University Institutional Bio-Safety Committee RESPONSIBILITY The HU-IBC ensures the safe use and disposal of biohazardous, radioactive, and recombinant DNA material according to Federal policies and procedures.

The Howard University Institutional Bio-Safety Committee TASKS • Maintaining compliance when it comes to the use and disposal of hazardous material. • Reviewing and approving protocols prescribing the use of biohazardous, radioactive, and recombinant DNA material in animals. • Providing annual training sessions for researchers who require the use of biohazardous, radioactive, and recombinant DNA material for research.
