  1. PAST PRESENT FUTURE WHEN Questions TIME Words: Sometimes adverbs of time are single words. Examples: today, tomorrow, yesterday, now, later, before PAST PRESENT FUTURE ADVERBS of TIME: Review before, yesterday now, today tomorrow, later Making a WHEN Question: when I am reading now.  I am reading now?  When am I reading? 

  2. Phrase: Sometimes adverbs of time are prepositional phrases. Examples:  at ______ (for a point of time) at 9:30 a.m. on ______ (for a day/date) on Saturday, on May 5th in ______ (for a time during a span) in spring, in August from ____ (for a whole time span) from 10 a.m. to noon around ____ (~ for a point of time) around 10:40 a.m. May 1 in May May 31 at 3 p.m. at 9:30 a.m. at 11:00 a.m.      around 3 p.m. from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Making a WHEN Question: when He eats at 9:00 a.m.  He eats at 9:00 a.m.?  When does he eat? 

  3. Phrase: Sometimes adverbs of time are dependent clauses. Examples: when I play basketball / while I play basketball before I play basketball after I play basketball until I play basketball 2:00 p.m. noon   basketball until I play basketball  after I play basketball when/while I play basketball before I play basketball Complex Sentences: DC, IC. -or- IC DC. When I play basketball, I am happy.I am sad until I play basketball.

  4. Making a WHEN Question: She is happy while she plays basketball. when She is happy while she plays basketball? When is she happy?   
