  2. The project has the following objectives: REGIONE TOSCANA The Intercultural Tuscan HPH project involves 8 hospitals: AO-Meyer (FI) AO-Careggi (FI) H - Prato H - Pisa H - Pistoia H - Firenze H - Empoli H - Arezzo

  3. The project has the following objectives: REGIONE TOSCANA Every Hospital has promoted some specific project such as: • cultural and language mediation • operator training • leaflet translation

  4. The project has the following objectives: REGIONE TOSCANA In some experience, the links between the local community services are very strong. In Prato, where’s one of the most important Chinese community in Italy, the project “L’albero della salute” involves every aspect of life: family, education, school, work and so on.

  5. The project has the following objectives: In Arezzo REGIONE TOSCANA the main institutions and organisations of the Province collaborate to run a similar project and the local health unit co-ordinates the health group, connected to Intercultural HPH.

  6. The project has the following objectives: REGIONE TOSCANA The “Interculturality” regional group decided to adopt the Italian HPH network proposal as regards these areas: • birth, • feeding, • faith, • pain • death

  7. The project has the following objectives: Every hospital has to guarantee at least the following requirements: REGIONE TOSCANA • to include Interculturality in the hospital mission • to adopt a formal act for the Interculturality HPH group • to offer cultural and language mediation • to include in the planning documents the Interculturality • to promote operator training

The project has the following objectives: Every hospital has to guarantee at least the following requirements: REGIONE TOSCANA • to include the Interculturality theme in the education programs • to augment the co-operation between the south and the north of the world • to improve communication • to strengthen the link between local cultural communities • to prepare an annual report about immigrants health

  9. The project has the following objectives: REGIONE TOSCANA For each area (birth, feeding, faith, pain and death) objectives, actions, indicators, standards and evaluation were established

  10. The project has the following objectives: At the end of 2004 REGIONE TOSCANA every hospital compared the performance level reached to: objectives, actions, indicators and standards and defined corrective actions to make sure that the target has been met by 2005

  11. The project has the following objectives: • By 2005 • Hospitals are committed: REGIONE TOSCANA • to test and verify standards • to propose to other hospitals in Tuscany to adopt them To • to introduce them as certification criteria
