SL Example Reaction Pathway • Demonstrate the reaction pathway for the conversion of but-2-ene to butanone. • Summary: • But-2-ene can be heated with steam and a catalyst to form butan-2-ol. • Butan-2-ol is oxidized by heating with acidified potassium dichromate to form butanone.
