  1. Draft Leicestershire Sustainable Community Strategy (SCS) Leicestershire Together Partnership

What is the SCS & where are we now? • A plan, produced and overseen by the “Leicestershire Together Partnership”, outlining high level priorities for improvement in Leicestershire over the next 5 years • Leicestershire Together includes all organisations & partnerships that deliver public services in Leicestershire • The Draft SCS was published for a 10 week public consultation period November 07 – January 08 • Comments received, including those from 1st round Area Forum meetings, informed the 2nd Draft SCS • The SCS has priorities based on themes, people & place

Draft Priorities for Bosworth • There is less HGV traffic and speeding through the villages • There is a greater range of shops in Market Bosworth and better parking facilities. • Access to employment is improved, supported by improved public transport. • Access to all types of housing, including affordable housing is improved. • There are more facilities available to the elderly, young people and young children. • There are more leisure and learning opportunities for all ages. • The heritage and tourism potential is maximised. • There has been a reduction in emissions of greenhouse gasses and the amount of waste going to landfill
