TRANSFORMATION BY JESUS
Matthew 4:21-22 “Continuing on, he saw another set of brothers, James the son of Zebedee and his brother John. They were in a boat with Zebedee their father
repairing their nets. Jesus called them and immediately they left the boat and their father and followed him.”
Mark 3:17 “James and John, Zebedee's sons, whom he nicknamed Boanerges, which means "sons of Thunder."
Luke 9:54“When the disciples James and John saw this, they said, "Lord, do you want us to call fire down from heaven to consume them?”
John 3:16 “God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him won't perish but will have eternal life.”
John 13:34-35 “I give you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, so you also must love each other. This is how
everyone will know that you are my disciples, when you love each other.”
John 14:23-24 “Jesus answered, “Whoever loves me will keep my word. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make
our home with them. Whoever doesn't love me doesn't keep my words. The word that you hear isn't mine. It is the word of the Father who sent me.”
1 John 4:7-8 “Dear friends, let's love each other, because love is from God, and everyone who loves is born from God and knows
God. The person who doesn't love does not know God, because God is love.”
Added to these in several passages John refers to himself as the “apostle that Jesus loved.”
Is there someone in your life that you have a really hard time loving?
Or maybe there is another sin you have a hard time overcoming?
Question of the day: Did Jesus call John to be His apostle knowing that he was a Son of Thunder?
Hebrews 12:1-3 “So then let's also run the race that is laid out in front of us, since we have such a great cloud of witnesses
surrounding us. Let's throw off any extra baggage, get rid of the sin that trips us up, and fix our eyes on Jesus, faith's pioneer and
perfecter. He endured the cross, ignoring the shame, for the sake of the joy that was laid out in front of him, and sat down at the right side of God's throne.”
When you discover the real Jesus for yourself, you will love Him.
His love is a transforming river that transforms us into HIS image.
