  2. The first ever time Hollyoaks was aired was on 23 October 1995. Hollyoaks has been created and directed by Phil Redmond. Me and Autumn decided to select Hollyoaks because it’s a popular soap and it has many awards for the most popular soap.

Secondary research • We have used the website BARB to find out the viewing figures and any information we needed to find out about Hollyoaks. • These are the 5 viewing figures : • 25th Tuesday September – 1.62 000 • 11th Tuesday September – 1.44 000 • 7th Tuesday August – 1.26 000 • 6th Monday August – 0.88 000 • 8th sunday July – 1.19 000 • We also found out that Hollyoaks is more popular then it was before by looking at BARB.

  4. Typical audience member . White British Female, Because the programme is mostly aimed at white women. . Aged Between 20-25, Because most young mums are around this age. Lower-Middle Class, Because young mums are more likely to not be working, so therefore they will be earning less money. Straight, because Hollyoaks has lot of heterosexual characters in it, also some homosexual men. Straight women like to take an interest in homosexual men’s life and hollyoaks shows a lot of it.

  5. PRIMARY RESEARCH . Fourteen people looked at our survey. . We went round the class room and asked them our questions, therefore we were doing primary research. . The type of questions we asked were closed questions, this makes quantitative data. . Our results are reliable because we went round recording the data ourselves. . 43% of the people we asked did like our show . 57% of the people we asked didn’t like our show . The most popular character was Mercedes Fisher.
