FTX13 AAR Recommendations

FTX13 AAR Recommendations • Consider deployable teams, other than Base Support Teams • Other than ANG DSCA roles • Support other MARS services • Would require change to MOI • More exercises. • Utilize digital communications • Exercise ECOM net concepts (MSN – Tactical, NEMx – MWR + Liaison) • Frequent, division wide and regional exercises utilizing current ECOM model • Consider changing status of Mission Support Net • Change from CLOSED to OPEN, i.e. no 3661 assignment required for exercises or actual emergencies • Current CLOSED net status creates roadblocks to interoperability • Current CLOSED status discourages participation • Current CLOSED status blocks division wide access to valuable frequencies in time of and emergency!

FTX13 AAR Recommendations • Propagation analysis by expert of conditions day of exercise • AFMARS has an internal resource that could be utilized • Determine what metrics would be useful for assessing propagation and informing choice of frequencies • Think advanced ionogram type webpage • Make it available on the web • Create ECOM NCS guide • Logging requirements • Net structures and links • When to add traffic nets in addition to primary net • Frequencies available to ECOM NCS • And a other stuff too!
