  2. 1. Exhorted church to remain sexually pure. 2. They were to “master” their own bodies. a) The way of the world. 3. Rejected counsel, they were rejecting God! a) Paul’s words were words of the Lord!

  3. 4. Lead quite lives minding their own business. a) Moves to saints that have died in Christ.II. 1 THESSALONIANS 4:13 A. Christians have ability to deal with death.

  4. 1. The world has no hope. • a) Believers have eternity of rest to look forward to. • b) Cessation of their hurts, pains, labors. • 2. Christians grieve at loss of a loved one. • a) Life does not cease! • b) Paul goes on to explain.

  5. III. 1 THESSALONIANS 4:14 A. Our resurrection based upon Jesus’ resurrection. 1. He was raised from the dead, so shall we! 2. We will return with Him! IV. 1 THESSALONIANS 4:15

  6. A. First business those who died believing in Him. 1. What He will do on the day.V. 1 THESSALONIANS 4:16 A. SHOUT = an order, command

  7. 1. This word used nowhere else in scripture. 2. Closest derivative interpreted as “command”. a) Jesus will “command” and things will happen. B. Jude 1:9

  8. 1. Michael only archangel named in scripture. C. 1Corinthians 15:52-58 1. Matthew 24:31 • a) The Lord will bring resurrected dead” with Him. • b) Trumpet a battle cry.

  9. (1) Will occur prior to the great Tribulation.VI. 1 THESSALONIANS 4:17 A. “caught up” = “rapture” 1. The Christians alive will meet the Lord in the sky.

  10. B. Adequate scripture to prove pre-tribulation rapture. 1. Revelation 3:10 • 2. Matthew 24:37-42 • a) Noah family only “righteous” left. • b) Only distinction their belief in the Lord!

  14. X. CONCLUSION A. 1Thessalonians 5:12-13 • a) Say, “Thank you!” once-in-a-while! • (1) Noble thing to serve the Lord. • (2) Paul says to esteem them!
