  2. Definition • Pornography is defined as the display of erect genitalia, sexual intercourse, oral sex and digital stimulation, depicted through drawings, stills photography or electronically.

  3. Soft core porn • Soft-core pornography may include semi-nude, or fully nude pictures of a body, and may even be suggestive of sexual intercourse, or demonstrative of it. • Soft porn is a more socially acceptable kind of porn that you could see in a sex scene in a PG 13 movie at the cinemas.

  4. Hard core Porn • Hard-core pornography show graphic sexual acts directly, such as penetration

  5. The film and publications act 2004 states the following: A person has to be over the age of 18 to: • View pornography. • Participate in pornography. • Distribute pornography. • Sell pornography. • Work in an environment where pornography is sold.

  6. Types of pornography SELF MADE (VOLUNTARY) • Making of home sexual videos/DVD’s. • Photographs.

  7. Self made (minors) • Teenagers filming themselves having intercourse on DVD, cell phones etc. If a person is under the age of 18 and films themselves having intercourse, they will be charged under the sexual offences amendments act.

  8. Statutory rape. • Production of child pornography. • A child has a criminal capacity over the age of 10 and will be prosecuted!!!

  9. Child Pornography • Paedophiles are reliant on child pornography to fuel their paraphilias. There are 4 different types of child pornography collectors: • Closet collectors • Isolated collectors • Cottage collectors • Commercial collectors

  10. Closet collectors • Buy naked images of children. They do not molest and are inactive paedophiles.

  11. Isolated collectors • Actively molest their victims and keep a personal collection of their own child pornography.

  12. Cottage collectors • Share their own child porn collections and swap with other paedophiles. (not for financial gain)

  13. Commercial collectors • Sell child pornography for financial gain. They are active collectors and often kidnap children and use them for child pornography.

  14. The dangers of pornography • CHILDREN YOUNGER THAN 12. • Do not understand what they are looking at. • Often rein act what they have seen and can be accused of rape. • Can suffer severe psychological damage, at this early age.

  15. Teenagers and porn • Challenges their base values. • Often progress to more severe forms of pornography. • Feel inadequate about their bodies and sexuality. • Become addicted to porn.

  16. Adults and pornography • Pornography is a stimulant and therefore can lead to addiction. • Often leads to marital problems. • 98% of all sexual offenders who’s houses where raided after being charged with sexual assault, where in possession of pornography.

  17. IF AN ADULT EXPOSES A MINOR TO PORNOGRAPHY, THEY MAY BE FOUND GUILTY AND SENTENCED TO 5 YEARS IN JAIL.

  18. Dangers • Other than making an industry around sexual intercourse, pornography makes people products and even slaves of the imagination. • It can be incredibly addictive as many people will admit because of the principle of diminishing returns (gaining less satisfaction the second time you do something than the first)

  19. Dangers • Pornography dehumanises its subjects, usually women, and makes them a sexual product. • As people adopt these mindsets towards others
