  1. AG cleaning tests 30 September 2010 shiftId 1030401

  2. Notes on the measurements • The color map is ‘inverted black and white’: darker color indicates higher population • The AG was set to the maximum sensitivity. For those settings we don’t have a calibration. We will try to get one as soon as possible.

  3. 1st reduction of the RF voltage-Cleaning OFF- eLogBook entry 6 The voltage reduction caused the loss of 2 groups of out of momentum particles from each bunch. In the graph it is possible to observe the higher momentum group from bucket 1 and the lower momentum group from bucket 1201 enterning and crossing in the abort gap while de-bunching (the lines are getting broader)

  4. 2nd reduction of the RF voltage-Cleaning ON- eLogBook entry 8 The cleaning was switched on in a region in the middle of the monitored area (ask Wolfgang the exact bucket numbers). This time the particles were ‘cleaned up’ and were not able to cross the whole area.

  5. 3rd reduction of the RF voltage-Cleaning ON- eLogBook entry 9 Repetition of the previous experiment. Same observations

  6. Effect of the cleaning-Cleaning ON->OFF->ON- eLogBook entry 11 It is possible to observe the cleaning effect on the ‘natural’ de-bunching of the beam switching it on and off. Switched off the cleaning (acquisition ~1000) the ‘clean’ region start to repopulate from the sides. Switching on the cleaning (acquisition ~2100) the population in the cleaned region quickly diminish.

  7. 4th and 5th Voltage reduction-Cleaning ON (4th) -> OFF (5th) ->ON - eLogBook entry 13 With the cleaning on was performed a voltage reduction. The 2 ‘bunchlets’ entered in the monitored area and disappeared in the zone under cleaning. The cleaning was switched off and the clean zone started to repopulate from the sides. Another voltage reduction was performed and this time the ‘bunchlets’ crossed the whole monitored region. Finally the cleaning was switched on again.

  8. A bit of…. motion • The 2 ‘bunchlets’ crossing the monitored zone : https://espace.cern.ch/be-dep-bi-bsr/Docs/BSRA/IMG_0009.MOV • The 2 ‘bunchelets’ crossing the monitored zone and disappearing in the under cleaning area : https://espace.cern.ch/be-dep-bi-bsr/Docs/BSRA/IMG_0007.MOV
