  3. What is the Difference Between Jam and Preserves? • Jam and preserves are both made from real fruits mixed with sugar and pectin. Pectin is an indigestible carbohydrate, more like fiber that’s present and found in the cell walls of most fruits. • Let’s look into the difference between jam and preserves: • Jam • Jam refers to a product made with soft pulp or the whole fruit, either cut into pieces or crushed to a spread. This is made by crushing the fruit but leaving in most of the solid pieces of the fruit’s fibers and seeds, small and safe enough to consume with a spreadable consistency.

  4. What is the Difference Between Jam and Preserves? • The most common real fruit jam flavors are orange, mango, mixed fruit, and strawberry. Jam is generally used as a spread on plain bread or toast. • Preserves • Preserves refer to a product made with chunks of fruits, more like a spread containing small, whole fruit or uniform-size pieces in a clear, hugely gelled syrup. The fruit in the preserve is tender and plump and mostly comes in a fruit gel or syrup. Preserves will have more fruit in them than jam.

  5. What is the Difference Between Jam and Preserves? • Marmalade is a type of preserve with citrus fruits in it. Fruit preserves are mainly prepared, canned or jarred for long term storage. The most commonly available preserve flavors are orange, mango, and berries. Fruit preserves are often used in cooking and baking, as they contain a good amount of the fruit’s flavor in a mixable form. At other times, it can just be eaten as it is with a spoon. • St. Dalfour’s jams and fruit preserves is a brand that you should definitely look into if you’re really interested in getting yourself healthy and tasty fruit spreads and preserves. They have a wide range of mixed fruit options from strawberry preserves to a variety of berries.
