  1. How to Apply for a Marine Boat License in Dubai? Before you take charge of the vessel in the water, it is very important to have a marine boat license. Of course, before applying for a license, you need to have a sailing qualification and experience as well. Since June 2013, DMCA (Dubai Maritime city authority) implemented a resolution requiring driver license for marine owners if they want to drive a boat. You just have to submit the IYT certificate which means you can drive the marine boat crafts and you are already licensed for it. Procedure for general people The applicants need to take a DMCA test that is tailored according to the type of license you have applied for. You have to pass this DMCA test to get the marine license. Once passed, the license will be issued by the authority. With this marine boat license, you can drive boats up to 12 m in length. The licensed will get issued within 30 minutes if the application is successful. You can’t use this license for commercial purpose and it is valid for 2 years.
