Atatürk’ün Samsun’a ayak bastığı tarih olan 19 Mayıs aynı zamanda “Gençlik ve Spor Bayramı” olarak kutlanmaktadır.Atatürk gençlerden sık sık bahsederken, yaş sınırı dışında fikri olarak gençliği yani, fikirde yeniliği ifade etmiştir.
