ADHD, or Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, is a neurobehavioral disorder that affects both children and adults. It is characterized by symptoms of inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity. While many children show signs from a young age, symptoms can persist into adulthood, manifesting as restlessness. Causes include genetic factors and brain functioning, especially in the frontal lobe and cerebellum. Effective treatments range from stimulant medications like Adderall to behavioral therapies and exercise, which help manage symptoms and improve day-to-day functioning.
