  1. Christmas Day A Day in Life by Jack McLaughlin

  2. Christmas Eve Christmas Eve is part of Christmas because that’s the day when you prepare for the big day ahead. On Christmas Eve we buy a Christmas tree and decorate it with baubles, lights and an angel. My sister and I take it year about to put the angel on the top or to turn the lights on.

  3. Every Christmas Eve my mum and dad take us to visit Santa. Santa wants to know if I’ve been good and he asks me what I would like for Christmas.

  4. White Christmas If we’re really lucky it will be a white Christmas and we’ll get to go sledging.

  5. Reindeer Dust When I get back home there are usually new pyjamas on my bed that the Christmas angels have left. We get into our new pyjamas and before going to bed we put out a snack for Santa and his reindeer, Rudolph. Then we sprinkle reindeer dust outside to help Rudolph find his way to our house.

  6. Stockings Lastly we hang up our stockings. A stocking is a big sock that I hang up on Christmas Eve and I hope that Santa will fill it with presents. My sister Mila likes to hang up stockings for her dolls too!

  7. Christmas Morning Waking Up Waking up is very exciting but sometimes it gets too exciting and I wake up at about 5am. Stocking The first thing I do is look at my stocking. In my stocking there is usually chocolate, sweets and small toys. Breakfast Before I wake my mum and dad up I pick out some chocolate and sweets to have for breakfast. My sister and I quickly clear up the wrappers and wash our mouths to get rid of all the evidence.

  8. More Presents! In the living room under the Christmas tree lie lots of wrapped presents for us from Santa. I feel as though I could burst with happiness and excitement. We play with our presents for a wee while and then we get ready for my nonno and nonna (my grandparents) to pop round.

  9. Church We go to church to talk about Jesus and learn about God. On Christmas day we get dressed up for the Nativity Play. I can’t wait to be in it. This is the story of the first Christmas. After mass we get a selection box from the priest, which is a box with lots of bars of chocolate in it. My mum lets us have a bar to eat because she doesn’t know we’ve already had chocolate for breakfast.

  10. Christmas Lunch We take year about having lunch with family, sometimes with my dad’s side of the family and sometimes with my mum’s. We always have a Christmas turkey for lunch with all the trimmings: stuffing, Brussel sprouts, chipolata sausages and roast potatoes. It is lovely! For dessert we have Christmas pudding but it is disgusting!

  11. Even More Presents! After lunch we get even more presents from our family.

  12. Cousins The grown-ups like to have a chat while we play with our presents. I have loads of cousins so it’s like a party.

  13. Home Time After a few hours we head home. It’s very late so we go straight to bed. It’s such a great day. Only 365 days until next Christmas...
